7. DAILY ACTIVITIES

On January 8, 2019

Delegates from the University of Muria Kudus sent three students to the Philippines to take part in the Sea Teacher Batch 7 held by SEA MEO. The three students are myself, Brian Priyangga and my two friends, Inggraeni Inayah and Askha. We depart from Soekarno Hatta airport, and we will fly to Manila at 12pm. And this is our first experience on an airplane and direct foreign destination, namely Philippines. So we have to stay focused at the airport so that we don't miss out on information about the flight departure. And we leave using Cebu Airlines.

On January 9, 2019
Finally at 6am we arrived at the Philippines airport, Ninoy Aquino International Airport. So we are flying from Jakarta to Manila for 6 hours of flight. I feel happy because this is my first flight abroad, which is to Philippines. And here I am not only on vacation but here I represent the University of Muria Kudus to take part in the Sea Teacher Batch 7. Surely I am very happy because I will get a lot of experience, new friends and can learn about culture in Philippines.
Then I waited from morning to afternoon for an airplane flight to Legazpi Airport, because the plane will fly at 3 pm. So we spend a lot of time at the airport in Manila, where we rest and restore our sensitivity first.
Then at 3pm we depart from Manila airport to Legazpi Airport. And about 1 hour by plane, I finally arrived at Legazpi Airport. And I saw a very good view of the hills and mountains that are around the Legazpi airport.
Upon arrival at Legazpi airport we were picked up by representatives from Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA). After that we take the car from Legazpi to CBSUA. And to fulfill nutritional intake, we first eat with them. Then we continue the journey by car. And about 2 hours we arrived at CBSUA.
And after arriving at CBSUA we were given lodging for my sleep. And the place is located inside CBSUA, so it's safe for us to live in. Finally after entering my room, I first took a shower then slept at night to fulfill the activities for tomorrow morning.

On January 10, 2019

At 8 am my friend and I were invited by CBSUA to the College of Development Education (CDE) office. And upon arrival there we were very surprised because there was an inscription on our monitor on his office. And we are welcomed very well, after that we eat together and we talk together to discuss what culture in Indonesia is like. After eating, I was introduced by my buddy while in CBSUA. My buddy is named Rodney, he is a 8th semester CBSUA student majoring in information education. And this buddy assignment was to accompany and be my tour guide while I was in CBSUA.

On 11 January 2019
At 7 am I was escorted by the CDE to my internship, namely at the School of the Future (SOF). I was introduced to it by my Cooperating Teacher grade 6 Rizal. She is named Mrs. Chatyline M. Deyto. And I was very happy because when I set foot on SOF they were very enthusiastic about waiting for my presence there. And there I will teach this class, and this is an amazing experience for me because I can teach abroad in the Philippines.

On 12 January 2019

At 10am I went with the buddies go to Pasalubong Market to buy daily necessities to fulfill my nutritional intake. The four of us take a traditional vehicle called the Tricycle. And we depart from CBSUA to Pasalubong Market to pay 8 pesos.
And in my opinion the traditional markets in the Philippines and in Indonesia are similar and the same ones are sold. Because I realize the two countries are in Southeast Asia. I was there buying fruits like bananas, mangoes and apples. Then buy rice and other necessities such as eggs, bread and snacks.
And for me the traditional Philippines vehicle called the Tricycle is the same as in Indonesia. But in Indonesia the name is Bentor. So I was not surprised to ride the vehicle. But in the Philippines the vehicle is modified more efficiently, because in one motorbike can be ridden by 6-8 adults. And in Indonesia it can only be climbed by 2-4 people.

On January 13, 2019
At night around 7pm my friend and I were invited by the CBSUA to a typical Filipino food restaurant. We are very enthusiastic to enjoy the food. We eat a lot of dishes served. And there is one food that really captivates my heart, namely food called Barung which is made from fish and seafood. And in my opinion it tastes very good with a mixture of spicy, sweet salted funds that are evenly mixed which makes my tongue like the food.

On 14 January 2019
Every Monday at 7 AM CBSUA holds a flag ceremony, I join the flag ceremony with wisdom. And the ceremony is about 15 minutes. And what I admire is that when the Philippine flag was raised and sang the Philippines national anthem, every activity that was there had to be stopped temporarily, and that was proven when I saw it directly because CBSUA was near the highway and the vehicle stopped for a moment to honor the nation's flag and spent a few minutes when the Philippine flag was raised.

Then after the flag ceremony in CBSUA was finished, I went straight to the School of the Future (SOF) where I was apprenticed to attend the flag ceremony there too. I have to walk there for about 5 minutes. And there the ceremony was not held right at 7 am like in CBSUA. Because there every morning and evening the students first clean the school yard. And there does not use the name Office Boy and only uses class pick-up schedules to clean the school yard.

On January 15, 2019
Every morning and evening students at the School of the Future (SOF) carry out cleaning activities. In the morning it is done before the first lesson begins. So this cleaning activity is carried out around 07:00 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. The activity was carried out in accordance with the class picket schedule. So all students can participate in cleaning activities. After cleaning activities the first hour begins.

In the afternoon after all subjects are over. Students do cleanliness again. So in my opinion this activity is very good for developing an attitude of independence. Because it can do everything with itself and not depend on other people or the office boy. And this attitude is what makes me interested in students there because they can work hard and obey existing regulations.

On January 16, 2019
In the morning I went to the School of the Future (SOF) as usual, and during recess I became acquainted with CBSUA students who interned at SOF. Then we get to know each other and then we go to the canteen together and have lunch there.

After going to my canteen with SOF students going around SOF and we took advantage of our break hours to play with each other chatting. And we take pictures with the Isarog mountain background. Isarog Mountain is one of the mountains here. My Cooperating teacher once said that Mount Isarog is potentially active. So in my opinion it is very dangerous if the mountain suddenly becomes active and harms many both morally and materially.

On January 17, 2019
Finally on that date our friend from STKIP Muhammadiyah Kota Bumi Lampung arrived at CBSUA. Because they came late here because they still had the final test. So we are happy there are other friends here. So there are 4 students who have internships in CBSUA. Then at 7pm we were invited by the CBSUA to the restaurant to have dinner together. We eat at Naga City Mall. We eat fish and ice cream which is very delicious for us.

On January 18, 2019
Then in the morning at 8 am, the four of us, representatives from the University of Muria Kudus and STKIP Muhammadiyah Kota Bumi Lampung, were invited by the CBSUA to meet with the President of Central Bicol State University of Agriculture (CBSUA). We are there to introduce ourselves to each other and exchange information about culture in Indonesia.

On January 19, 2019
Me and the buddies from CBSUA went to Robinson Mall. We are there to buy toiletries and daily necessities for our meals for 1 week. After that we were there going around the mall, and buying clothes. And there we also buy ice cream which is very well known there, which is chili ice cream. For me, his name is very unique and it turns out that chili ice cream is made from chili and tastes very good, which is a mixture of sweet and spicy. And I really like this ice cream because it's unique.

On January 20, 2019
That day was a holiday for me. That's why I toured the CBSUA neighborhood and saw the beautiful buildings it had. I have a lot of requests from friends from Indonesia to make their names open at this university, especially in the Philippines. Because most of my friends do that so they can come to the Philippines someday. And after that I took a picture with a nice painting, which was a picture of an old woman eating corn and eating Pili nut. Pili nut is a kind of nuts that are typical in the Camarines Sur Philippines.

On January 21, 2019
On that day there was heavy rain here. And after the rain stopped I attended the farewell and acceptance of the principal at the School of the Future (SOF). That day was a historic day for SOF. The old principal named Mam Faye was replaced by a new headmaster named Mam Venus. Because Mam Faye was transferred to the education office at Pili, Camarines Sur Philippines.

On January 22, 2019
On that day there was a Welcome Program to Sea Teacher On Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia in Alvaro Rabina Hall (Auditorium) CBSUA. There we show the talent and culture in Indonesia. Some are dancing and singing. And at that time I sang about the Javanese song "Ilir-Ilir". This song tells about the spread of Muslim religion in Indonesia, especially on the island of Java. So I am here singing sweetly and telling the song with the intention that the people of the Philippines know the culture in Indonesia. And we were also presented with the appearance of good traditional dances from Philippines.

On January 23, 2019
On that day we were invited to the CDE office to attend the birthday of one of the lecturer at CBSUA. The day is a very special day for Mam Karen, because this is the 40th anniversary of the year. There was attended by the president, lecturers and students from CBSUA. So it was a very memorable day for Mam Karen. There we are given special food from the Philippines, and of course the food is the food that I am waiting for because I like foods that are typical of an area.

On January 24, 2019

On that day at 8 am we were speakers at Lecture Series On Cultural Diversities Philippines-Indonesia Internship in CDE Reading Center. There we tell the culture in Indonesia. And we come from 2 different islands, we from the University of Muria Kudus came from Java Island and my other two friends came from STKIP Muhammadiyah Kota Bumi Lampung from Sumatra. So each of us tells the culture of each region. And I tell the culture of my region, namely the city of Kudus, Central Java, Indonesia And on the program I told about the teachings of Sunan Kudus, Syech Jafar Siddiq. He has a very famous teaching, namely "GUSJIGANG" Gus is good, Ji is Ngaji and Gang is trading.

On January 25, 2019
On that day we were invited by the CBSUA to attend the event with the mayor of Pili, Camarines Sur. We come to the mayor's office. There we talk about the picture of education in Indonesia and education in the Philippines. Besides that we were there to meet students from South Korea. He is in the Philippines for a 1-year internship on his department, which is about education.

On January 26, 2019
On that day I Attend the Talk on Bicol History and Culture at 1:30 – 5.00 pm at the USI Mini Theater. This activity is sponsored by Universidad de Sta. Isabel at Naga City among SEAMEO SEA-Teacher Project participants and their student teacher buddies and SEA Teacher Coordinators. There we get a lot of knowledge about one-half bicol with the speaker Dr. Danilo M. Gerona. After the material was delivered, I was very enthusiastic about asking about the topic presented. I asked about the hero in the Philippines and his contribution to the country.

On January 27, 2019
In the afternoon I went for a walk to Pasalubung market to buy daily necessities. And seeing the night market in the Philippines, it turns out that the night market is not much different from Indonesia. And the night market is very crowded with residents there. And we were there enjoying the game on the market that night.

On January 28, 2019
Every morning and evening, the School of the Future (SOF) students do watering plants. The plants they plant are very varied such as vegetables, fruits, and ornamental plants. The land there is very fertile, because the place is on the slopes of Mount Isarog. And the air is very cool and SOF is appointed by the local government to be a green school because there green plants grow and make the air clean.

On January 29, 2019
On that day SOF students did cooking activities together with being guided by class teachers. They are there to cook food in groups using the plants they grow themselves. So what they eat is fresh organic food from the garden directly. And I really like the food, because after I tasted it I felt addicted.

On February 1, 2019
We have a Lecturer Series on Cultural and Education Diversities program in the Audio Visual Room in Calabanga Campus of CBSUA. We are there as speakers to explain about culture and education in Indonesia. They are very enthusiastic about this event, and I also really like events like this because we can share knowledge and can exchange ideas with others. In addition, we present the Maumere dance as a form of love for Indonesia to introduce to foreign countries.

On 4 February 2019
That day was a very moving day for me. Because that day was a farewell day for me at the place where I was apprenticed at the School of the Future (SOF) and I was very touched when many students gave me the last words before I returned to Indonesia. Then I gave a special prize for my Cooperating Teacher because it was very rewarding for me to guide being a professional teacher in the future.

Besides that, we get farewell from CBSUA in the afternoon. We are served a good traditional dance performance from Philippines. And we say goodbye to each other and we will miss each other.

On February 6, 2019
That day was my departure schedule to Indonesia. So I slept the previous day at a hotel near the airport. Because we on February 6 depart in the morning at 7 in the morning. And we depart from the destination Legazpi Airport to Manila Airport. And from Manila Airport to Soekarno Hatta Airport, Jakarta.
